About the neighborhoods
Scenic Sunrise and Shooting Star sit about a third of a mile apart on the Washington Bench, just above the Washington Fields area of Washington City.
The neighborhoods
We're south of the Virgin River, up on the bench, in the 84780 zip. The two subdivisions went in about a decade apart — Scenic Sunrise around 2008, Shooting Star mostly between 2019 and 2022 — so you'll see a mix of established streets with mature yards and newer construction, generally on roomy lots.
The views are the thing everybody mentions first. North across the Fields you get the Pine Valley Mountains, and the Red Cliffs sit off to the west. Mornings up here earn the name.
Shooting Star Park is the center of gravity for both neighborhoods — five acres with a pavilion, a playground, a basketball court, two lighted pickleball courts, and a trail that loops the whole park. Horizon Elementary is right there too, about half a mile off.
For getting further outside, the paved Virgin River Trail is a short hop down off the bench, and Sullivan Soccer Park is close enough for a weeknight game. Groceries, the hospital, and I-15 are all a short drive — there's a quick-reference table of approximate drive times on the Local Info page.
