Local info & contacts
The practical stuff — schools, parks, how far things are, and who to call.
Schools
Both neighborhoods are in the Washington County School District. Horizon Elementary is the closest school — about half a mile away. Which middle and high school you're assigned to is less obvious, so it's worth checking your own address.
Elementary
- Horizon Elementary1970 S Arabian Way — the closest school to both neighborhoodsGrades PK–5
- Majestic Fields Elementary675 East Majestic Drive — also nearby, about 1.5 miles southGrades PK–5
Middle & high school — two possible paths
Horizon Elementary feeds both of these paths, so your intermediate, middle, and high school depend on your exact address rather than on the neighborhood. Look yours up before you count on either one — and note that boundaries do get redrawn.

Reserving the pavilion
The large pavilion at Shooting Star Park can be reserved through Washington City for a fee. Everything else in the park — the playground, courts, and trail — is first come, first served and can't be reserved.
- Applications are online only. The city won't take a pavilion reservation over the phone or in person.
- Apply at least 7 days before your event.
- City code requires a reservation for gatherings of 25 or more people.
- Planning something bigger than a normal pavilion booking — vendors, amplified sound, road closures? That's a Special Event Permit instead, and it needs 45 days' notice.
